Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth a step forward

The Markazi Jamiat Ahle-e-Hadees Hind is the oldest organization of Indian Muslims. It was established in 1906. It introduced itself by championing the cause of India’s freedom struggle. It shouldered the responsibility of freedom struggle along with other fellow Indians. The Markaz is engaged, since its inception, in the noble cause of preserving Islam’s puritanical and pristine moral values and social ethos.

This organization is dedicated for establishing a just moral social order by eradicating all sorts of evils from the society. In this regard, it renders valuable services in the field of education and general social awareness. This organization is also relentlessly working for the unity, integrity and sovereignty of our nation. It is also dedicated to the cause of religious harmony, peaceful co-existence, national solidarity and social justice. This organization is vigorously fighting the menace and scourge of terrorism and all kinds of its manifestation.

The towering personalities like Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, first Education Minister of India, Maulana Abdul Majid Hariri, India’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Maulana Abdul Wahab Aravi, Maulana Abdul Qayyum Rahmani and Hakim Abdus Samad Moradabadi were its great leaders and beacon light.

There are twenty-one state branch of the Jamiat. More than three crores people are associated with the Jamiat. They are engaged in educational and social welfare and reform activities. The Jamiat is imparting modern education along with the traditional religious streams of education. It has built modern technical assistance institutions, medical and para-medical centers for imparting technical assistance and is producing resource persons to cater the needs of basic health services. The prime objective of these activities is to serve the humanity at large and thus to prepare them for joining the higher services of nation building and social welfare. Appreciating the social and humanitarian services of the Jamiat, the first Prime Minister of India, late Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru said: “ The services of the Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadees Hind is more than the services rendered by the whole of India”. Jamiat firmly believes in the philosophy of cooperation and peaceful co-existence. It always appreciates the virtuous works of others. Therefore, it always looks forward for developing cooperative relationship with others.

The Jamiat brings out several periodicals in different languages in Urdu, Arabic, Hindi and English. It has published a large numbers of books on different themes and issues. The one hundred four years old Jamiat has so far organized twenty-nine All India Conferences, besides the conventions on myriad issues including anti-terrorism convention. Hafiz Mohammed Yahya Dehlavi and Maulana Ali Imam Mahdi Salafi are its president and General Secretary respectively.

The Jamiat is organizing an All India Conference on the greatness of the companions of the Prophet Mohammed (sws) on April 10-11, 2010 at New Delhi’s historic Ram Leela Ground. Its prime objective is to revive the pristine mission and the greatest accomplishments of the companions of the Prophet Mohammed (sws), which changed the course of history and brought back the humanity on the path of common human fraternity.
