A National Symposium was organized by Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth Hind on “Communal Harmony and National Integration: its Significance and Need” on December 28, 2015 at Ahle Hadeeth Complex, Okhla New Delhi at 6 p.m.
The General Secretary Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth, Maulana Asghar Ali Imam Mahadai Salafi initiating the Symposium said: “The Holy Quran acknowledges the Co-existence of other faiths and in doing so acknowledges that different cultures can live together in peace. Islam preaches inter-religious and international relationship of how to live together. Communal well-being is central to human life, so there is a concept in Islam called Istihsan.
Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahhab’s vision of the communal harmony was not one in which the Muslim could only co-exist peacefully with other Muslims, but was one in which Muslims were expected to exist and even cooperate peacefully with others, even though their religion and practice might differ. Islam teaches us that other person is our brother with equal rights. Islam is the religion of peace, love, tolerance, brotherhood, harmony, integration and mercy. The belief of a human being can not be complete if the moral characteristics do not exist in him.
Allah Almighty said in the Holy Quran “You are the best community brought forth for mankind: You enjoin the right and forbid the wrong and you believe in God” (3:110)
Islam does not tolerate the idea of communalism. It condemns disheartening and depriving of rights. Serving mankind is the greatest service in the eyes of Islam. Dignity of mankind is very significant. Muslims should take initiative every where and in every form to serve mankind with whatever resources and means at their disposal. Dignity of man and social service can not be ignored in the eyes of Islam. The religion of Islam stresses much emphasis on the stated qualities”. Maulana Asghar Ali Imam Mahadi Salafi said.
The symposium was attended by a number of dignitaries including Dr. Zafrul Islam Khan (president All India Muslim Majlise Mushawart New Delhi) Shri Yugal Keshore Shastri, Maulana Muhammad Ahmad (Secretary Jamaat Islami Hind), Mufti Ataur Rahman Qasmi (president Shah Wali Ullah Institute, New Delhi) and many others.
